I had to work and was a little sad not to be home. However, it looks like the kids had another fun Halloween. When I was a kid in So. California we would only go trick or treating to families that we knew really well. Where we live now it is really safe and the kids go door to door all night long. We have hundreds of trick or treaters each year. Since I was not home Grandma Porter was the lucky one to sit by the door with Holly (our dog) and handed out all of the candy.

I remember one Halloween in particular when I was a kid. I always thought my big sister was cool. Cathy and a friend took me around trick or treating. They also taught me lots of Halloween songs. They came from a hallmark card. Most of the songs were Christmas tunes with Halloween lyrics. These were some of the songs: Great Pumpkin is Comin' to Town, I Heard the Bells on Halloween, or I'm Dreaming of the Great Pumpkin. My Mom worked part-time at a radio station KQED. We stopped by the radio station and started to sing our Halloween songs and the DJ loved them. He had us sing them On the AIR!!! Later as we drove around town that night we could hear ourselves on the radio. Our 15 min of fame, and a great childhood memory!!
