My Peeps

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to my blog. At the end of this year I am going to make my blog private. Due to the fact that I divorced "Satan" and have a valid need to protect my family.

I love having you all visit me and would love for you to continue. If you wish to follow my blog just send me your email address and explain who you are and how you know me and I will add you to my followers. You can give me your email via the comments box below or just email me at flygirl.jeanine@gmail.com.

Thanks,

Jeanine

In Loving Memory

"Violet" Yolanda Muto Dombrowski

98 years old

The children all called her Great Grandma Goose.

I first got to meet Grandma and Grandpa while dating Eddie. Eddie took me to the shop to meet Grandpa and Grandma. Grandma always prepared a large delicious meal each time we were there and always sent us home with treats (usually chocolate) and flowers.
Grandma's opinion held a lot of weight in Eddie's eyes, and I knew that if she did not approve of me that I would never have the opportunity to be a Dombrowski. Well I fell in love with Eddie's grandparents. Without Eddie knowing, I would go LA and visit Grandpa and Grandma 1 to 2 times a month. I would sit and talk with them for hours. Grandma was full of stories about her life, childhood, the flower shop, and family. I enjoyed every moment with her and sure wish that I had written them down. Grandma was fun, loving, and a little bit sassy.
Everybody loved Eddie, especially me, I was head over heels for him. He was my prince charming and I loved him, I loved his family. I knew that Eddie was also deeply in love with me, however the analytical (Doctor) side of Eddie had cold feet. Grandma would tell me that she was going to keep me regardless of Eddie's fickleness. Good thing Eddie's feet warmed up because I wanted the whole package.
I always appreciated and valued the warm embrace they gave to me as I married into the family. The flowers at our wedding were fabulous, like something out of a movie. Orchids were everywhere and they filled the room and I know that each arrangement was made with love and joy.
It was a tremendous loss when Eddie passed away. I know that one of the hardest things Grandma did was make the arrangement for Eddie's casket. It was a beautiful piece and I know that it was made with love and tears.
Through all the years I have felt the loving arms of Grandma Goose. She has always kept me in her embrace and has embraced my children. My children often got cards and gifts from her. My children especially loved the time when Great Grandma Goose came up to Lake Arrowhead for Christmas. They could hardly wait for her to wake up each morning. They loved singing to her, reading to her, and talking with her. I would walk in the room and the would be curled up around her in a blanket.
Grandma left a great legacy. There are so many wonderful and funny stories about her that I wish I could share all of them. She was a great wife, great mother, and great woman. When I think of the scripture that says "by their fruits ye shall know them", her family are the greatest people I know. I feel privileged to know them and lucky to be among them.

The Wave

The Wave is sandstone formation that is located just south of the Utah - Arizona border about halfway between Kanab, Utah and Page, Arizona. I have seen many pictures of this area and I have wanted and dreamed of going on this hike one day. I would say that I have been wanting to go on this hike for the past 9 years.

The BLM limits access to the Wave to just 20 permits per day. Ten of the permits are available in advance by reservation, and the remaining ten are made available the day before in Kanab, Utah. Thanks to my dear friend "Uncle John" who tried diligently for over a year, got us tickets to hike the Wave.

The hike was approx. a little over 6 miles round trip. We hike this on Sunday Nov. 16th and the weather was perfect. We started out early in the morning and hiked all day. Uncle John was the "Sherpa" and helped us carry all the extra layers of clothing that we peeled off during the hike.
This was such a spectacular hike. I couldn't believe all the dramatic colors that swirled on theses large rolling hills. Just to let you know none of these photos have been photo shopped, the colors that you see are true.

Once we got to the Wave we sat at the top and at lunch. There were 5 of us Uncle John, Aunt JoAnn, Amelia, Megan , and Me. I am thankful that we had enough tickets for Amelia and Megan. While I think they had fun I don't think that they will truly appreciate this opportunity and experience until they get older. We will have to do this again when Porter is a little bigger.

Wrestling

Porter started wrestling this year.

This was his first meet. He only had two practices before this meet.

It looks like they were a pretty good match.

Even though Porter lost I think he really had fun.

Porter got a bronze medal. I think he did a great job!! Way to go Porter!!!

Trick or Treat

Amelia was a Spanish Flamingo Dancer.

Megan was a Nerd

Porter was a Football player! Go Thunder !!

I had to work and was a little sad not to be home. However, it looks like the kids had another fun Halloween. When I was a kid in So. California we would only go trick or treating to families that we knew really well. Where we live now it is really safe and the kids go door to door all night long. We have hundreds of trick or treaters each year. Since I was not home Grandma Porter was the lucky one to sit by the door with Holly (our dog) and handed out all of the candy.

I remember one Halloween in particular when I was a kid. I always thought my big sister was cool. Cathy and a friend took me around trick or treating. They also taught me lots of Halloween songs. They came from a hallmark card. Most of the songs were Christmas tunes with Halloween lyrics. These were some of the songs: Great Pumpkin is Comin' to Town, I Heard the Bells on Halloween, or I'm Dreaming of the Great Pumpkin. My Mom worked part-time at a radio station KQED. We stopped by the radio station and started to sing our Halloween songs and the DJ loved them. He had us sing them On the AIR!!! Later as we drove around town that night we could hear ourselves on the radio. Our 15 min of fame, and a great childhood memory!!

It' My Birthday Too

Porter had a great birthday! First we had a spook alley. In a room only lit by candle light we had the kids feel all sort of body parts (a brain, liver, eyeballs, fingers, veins, and even maggots!) SCARY!

Then we went to Laser Mania and played laser tag.

The kids especially loved all these delicious drinks.

It's My Birthday, It's My Birthday, It's My Birthday

For Megan's birthday, she invited several of her friends for a day at the salon. The girls got up-dos and got their nails painted.
Back row: Amelia, Tiera, Kelsie, Tressa. Front row: Chandler, Abby, Megan, Abby, Sarah.

It is so fun being a girl. I love being pampered. I feel pretty.

Interesting how Amelia somehow invited herself to the party.

Karaoke anyone? The girls singing to Miley Cyrus.

Singing and dancing to High School Musical.

Anasazi Valley Trail

We went on an incredible hike just past Santa Clara. We saw hundreds of petroglyphs left from the Anasazi Indians who migrated through this area. Uncle John, our favorite guide, taught us many things about the Anasazi Indians and what the petroglyphs represent. It was AWESOME!

Suicide cliff. This petroglyphs is at the edge of a cliff. The toes facing north (toward heaven). Next is a bird like foot print symbol of flying followed by a man falling upside down. I am not sure if this was a religious ritual or not.

The sheep represent a group or a family. You can see two sheep followed by a wolf.

It was AWESOME!
